Stuart Pearson

March 28, 1959 — April 30, 2022

March 28, 1959 – April 30, 2022

The family of Stu Pearson are deeply saddened to announce his sudden passing at his home in Victoria, BC on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at age 63.

Stu was born and raised in Saskatoon, SK, the youngest of three brothers. He spent many of his summers at the family farm near Melville, SK, living and working hard on farm chores, developing a strong work ethic that stayed with him all of his life. Stu was a forward-thinking businessman, opening the first hydroponics store in Saskatoon in the 1980s, and worked in drywall and had various entrepreneurial ventures over the years. His working years were spent in both the Saskatoon and Vancouver areas, and later in Victoria, BC where he lived until the time of his death.

Stu became a father at a young age, and his children were the loves of his life, and he was very proud of his grandchildren. Family and friends were so important to him, and he was loyal to a fault. He loved hunting, and fishing and was always up for telling a great story about his many adventures he had over the years. He enjoyed playing games like pool, backgammon, boardgames, and loved to tempt lady luck in a hand of poker. Being from Saskatchewan, he had many good times at the lake with family and friends enjoying fishing, boating, playing cards, and sharing a good laugh. Later, after moving to BC his love for the ocean grew, and he enjoyed touring family and friends out on his boat along the coast. Stu was a fantastic cook, found contentment in gardening, and was very interested in history. Most of all, Stu was happiest when visiting and sharing a laugh with loved ones.

He is survived by his daughter Angela (Kent) England and grandchildren Aeden, Karys, and Preston; son Tyler (Kanako) Pearson; brothers David (Cheryl) and Dale (Patricia) Pearson, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Alfred and Marg Pearson. He is also survived by and predeceased by many dear friends who were like family to him.

We will miss Stu deeply and all he added to our lives with his unique character that we all loved so much. He was one of a kind, priding himself on being a “straight shooter” saying it like it was and told many a good joke with a twinkle in his eye. All of this we will miss so much.
