Steve passed away suddenly after a life well lived.
Born in Fergus, Ontario, on April 2, 1947, Steve was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Doris Fleming, his sister Sherryl, and his brother Alex.
He is lovingly remembered by his sisters Susan, Sandra, and Michelle, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Steve's adventurous spirit led him to travel throughout the southern United States before eventually settling in Victoria. He worked as a hydrant mechanic with the Capital Regional District for 28 years, retiring in 2015.
Retirement gave Steve more time to enjoy his greatest passions—golf, spending time with friends, and making the most of every day. He will be remembered for his warm smile, infectious laugh quick wit, generous heart, and the friendships he treasured.
Steve's greatest joy was sharing 36 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Sue Mirtle. He often spoke of how grateful he was to have her by his side, and their love and devotion to one another were an inspiration to all who knew them.
A Celebration of Steve's Life will be held on Sunday, July 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ardmore Golf Club, 930 Ardmore Drive. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating a life well lived.
