It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear son Robbie.
He was surrounded by his loving family at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on June 30th, 2024, he peacefully left us at age 44. He will be missed beyond words and loved forever by his grieving parents, Barbara & Serge, his sister Michele, her sons Dylan and Parker, his brother Daniel and his daughter Kinaydah Malikah.
As well as Uncles and Aunts, Robbie (namesake) and Ann, Sandy, Andre, Jean & Martine, Christiane and Richard. His cousins, Darcy (Jake), Raylene, Alex, A.J., Delaney, Jean-Francois and Marie-France. As well as many second cousins and other distant relatives.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Robert and Alice, Maurice and Francoise, his Aunt Cindy and cousin Ricky, as well as other extended family members.
Robbie was born in Halifax Nova Scotia. Growing up he was a wonderful son and big brother that loved having fun, doing playful activities or just sitting and creating with his Legos. Transformers were always his favorite. As a teenager, he was on a basketball team, played video games, rode his bike, swam, easily joined in any activity on the go and was competitive. His humour was infectious, and you always knew that behind his smile was kindness. There followed a lifetime of stories to share.
With his military family’s first posting being Montreal, then back to N.S. for a short while it was then onto B.C. which is where he had decided to settle after graduation from Esquimalt High School. Always a Maritimer, he would visit Nova Scotia to see family. He made numerous friends throughout the years that will truly miss him.
Robbie started working to save for his first car. With help from mom and dad, he soon had his dream car, a Monte Carlo which he named “Bootylicious”. After a few various jobs, he decided he wanted to be outside and settled for construction work. It took a toll on his health after many years.
His pure joy came with the birth of his daughter Kinaydah. His smile was the biggest and most heartfelt for her. When he was with her, he tried to make that time special. His proudest moment was seeing her graduate. He never stopped loving her.
Also, a mention goes to his pet tarantula Rusko, 12 years old. If that spider could talk… We donated Rusko to Rob’s favorite pet shop.
It was a gift to know him and to love him. His family are eternally grateful for having him as a part of their lives. We will miss his kindness, his smile, his wit, and especially his big bear hugs, which he shared with all.
Rob’s family would like to thank those who gave him the best of care, kindness with help from the paramedics, Dr. Wood, Dr. MacIntosh, his nurses Hsien-Ley, and Carrie, along with all other staff in the ICU that helped and provided care.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice, or take a quiet moment to have a happy memory of Robbie. Thank you to all.
Cremation has taken place. There has been a private farewell gathering for his immediate family.
Rest easy now son, you are at peace.
