Richard’s accomplishments include writing three books: Last Stands (2006), Lateral Attitudes (2008), LOUISE (2021). While these books are works of fiction, they offer an insight into his life, the times, and the places to which he has brought his passion for social justice and the eradication of racial discrimination.
Heath’s writing career dates back to the 1970s when he wrote for Montreal’s Globe. Referring to the protagonist in the trilogy of books, Richard says, “I started Henry out as a small child when he was first born … the things he goes through as a child are pretty incredible … somehow he has managed to avoid cynicism.” Heath noted in an interview shortly before his death that it all “plays a role in the spiritual connection of human beings.”
