Morenne Geneblaza

January 9, 1946 — January 13, 2023

Morenne passed away peacefully at home in Victoria, BC, on January 13, 2023; at the age of 77. She is survived by her loving husband Jess; Sons Niko Julien (MJ) in Vancouver BC, Manuel Michael (Astrid Louise) in Christchurch NZ, and Jake Quincy in Richmond BC; her granddaughters Olivia Rose (18), Natalia Shae (17), Giselle (13), and Jordyne (10).

Morenne was born in Negros Occidental, Philippines and grew up in General Santos City (Dadiangas). She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila with a degree in BS PreMed and BS Psychology, and worked as a Psychology proessor at Notre Dame of Dadiangas University in General Santos City until she immigrated with her family to Vancouver, BC.

Morenne is predeceased by her father Manuel Fernandez Gavilan, mother Lydia Bona, older brother Dante, and youngest sister Yvette. Survived by sisters Mandalene (Glen Cunningham), Belinda (Steven Colon), Nalita Alla (Sjoerd Caffin), Margie Gavilan; brothers Manuel Jr. (Dianne Watters), and Raul (Cristina Cruz).

A Celebration of Life and Funeral Service will be held on January 20, 2023 at 11:00am at the West Shore Crematorium, 4392 West Shore Parkway, Langford BC.
