Judy White

September 17, 1943 — October 23, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden, but peaceful passing of Judy Isabella White with her niece and her special friend by her side. Judy recently moved back to Victoria and was loving rekindling old friendships, forging new ones and rediscovering the city. Judy had lived in Victoria for many years through her long career with the Bank of Montreal and has many friends from this time in her life, she was greatly looking forward to reconnecting.

Judy had a love of animals from a very young age, she was once told she would bring home a horse if she could, but instead she settled on cats, show dogs and birds. In more recent years she found a passion for volunteering at Raptors in Duncan BC, a bird rescue with educational programs. She loved her “beautiful birds” and found her happy place here, among all her wonderful coworkers and feathered friends, particularly her big love, the marabou Stork, Gaston. Her seemingly boundless energy and spunk made her a well respected and relied upon volunteer and friend.

Judy was always prepared to entertain and host. Meeting you in the driveway to greet you with a huge smile, a little giggle, and open arms. Her door always open, her table usually set, the freezer filled with ice cream buckets of homemade cookies to drop off to someone. She could be your biggest cheerleader, celebrating her friends and families triumphs and usually the first to check in when things were hard.

Judy was brought into this world and predeceased byre parents Isabella and Edward McCormack. Survived by her sister Nancy, Brother in law Richard, niece Colleen, nephew Darren, great niece and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Pre deceased by two nephews Kevin and Garth.

The family would like to express their gratitude to everyone who added life to Judy's years. It is in times like this that we reflect on what is most important, the relationships we forge, the memories they create and the love we leave behind. It is a reminder to appreciate the moments, take nothing and no one for granted, as tomorrow is not promised to any of us. So, thank you again for the part you’ve played in Judy's beautiful life.

Judy was a well organized, decisive person and has made her wishes well known to those closest to her. At her request there will be no celebration of life or viewing, it is her wish to have her ashes spread by the ocean, near a big tree in a peaceful place and we will ensure this happens for her.

In lieu of flowers please consider sending donations in Judy's name to Raptors, this would have been Judy's wish.
