Judith Anne Sinclair (née Caljouw)

 October 14, 1937 – January 4, 2025

Judith Anne Sinclair (née Caljouw), aged 87, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, leaving

behind a family who loved her. Predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bob) Sinclair, and sister

 Carolee Peters.

Judy is survived by her five daughters: Jeanne Sinclair-Dedels (Tim), Dorothy Murray (Mark),

Susan Nagy (Martin), Carrie Cann (Michael), and Sally Sinclair-Baird (David), and her brother

Robert Caljouw (Gail) and brother-in-law Ken Peters, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Judy was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren—with a new addition eagerly

awaited. Her pride in their achievements was matched only by her amusement at the energy and

love they brought into her life.

One of Judy’s greatest passions was nature photography. Her keen eye captured the beauty of

the world around her, from delicate wildflowers or mushrooms to sweeping landscapes. As her

brother Rob once wrote, “Her photographs show us the great beauty that surrounds us every

 day, but is seldom seen.”

Judy also had a lifelong love of music, particularly the piano. A gift from her father on her 12th

birthday sparked a passion that she carried well into her senior years. Whether playing for

herself or others, music brought her great joy and solace. She was also an enthusiastic member

of the Pacific Rim Music Society in Ucluelet, where she found joy in sharing her love of music

 with the community.

Judy spent her final years at the Buttertubs Seniors Complex, where she found joy in simple

pleasures, like gardening, feeding the birds and tending to the outdoor spaces with care and

determination. She also cherished the many friendships she formed there, sharing laughter,

stories, and her love of the Buttertubs Marsh with her neighbors.

Judy’s family would like to thank Judy’s brother-in-law, Ken Peters and her niece Kim Baumel,

her cousin Pete Caljouw, her close friend Mary Barnes, her lovely friend and housekeeper Valerie

Sheard, and all her close friends at Buttertubs Seniors Complex for all their love, kindness and

support to both Judy and her daughters over the past months.

The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Victoria Hospice. Although

Judy's stay there was brief, the care and kindness extended to both her and her daughters was

extraordinary. Their understanding and compassion provided comfort during a difficult time, and

their efforts will always be remembered with deep gratitude.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victoria Hospice Society or the BC Cancer

 Foundation.

At Judy’s request, no service will be held.
