John Anthony Yankoski

John Anthony Yankoski (Oct. 14, 1943–Dec. 14, 2025)

After a short illness, John has decided to meet up with his beloved Barbara on a journey of everlasting peace.

John had a thirty-year career at BC Tel. After retiring, John was able to dedicate more time towards his passion of photography. This led him towards many opportunities, such as team photography for local sporting events, weddings, and many scenic photos for personal enjoyment or for sharing with friends.

If you know John, then you know that baseball was life. One of John’s proudest moments was being inducted into the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame alongside his teammates from the 1970s Centennials. John wishes to thank all of his ball buds for all the wonderful times and memories on and off the field.

As a member of the International Police Association (Region 13), John maintained many wonderful friendships and enjoyed good times together. John leaves behind daughters Sharon Baldwin and Carol Yankoski, grandchildren, and nephews and a niece.

John wishes to thank VIHA. Special thanks to MAID, and to his dearest friend, Debbie Vermanning who took time out of her life to care for him over the past two months.
