John (Jack) Maurice O’Neill
March 3, 1944 - May 11, 2026
Jack O’Neill, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away suddenly at the age of 82 following a cycling accident. He is survived by his wife, Heather O’Neill, his children Kristie, Jeff and Andy (Lisa Clarabut), as well as his siblings Carole, Barry, Callum, and Ron. He was also grandfather to Asher, Indio, Avery and Riely.
Jack lived life with energy, humor, and generosity. Known for his quick wit and love of joking around, he had a remarkable ability to make people laugh. His kindness and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A skilled mechanic by trade, Jack spent much of his life doing what he loved most: working with his hands and solving problems. He also had a lifelong passion for Volkswagen cars and could often be found talking shop, tinkering in the garage, or admiring a classic VW.
More recently, Jack found biking as a hobby. He loved the freedom and joy he found riding his bicycle over the past few years. Cycling was one of his greatest pleasures, and he remained active and adventurous until his final days.
Jack’s memory will live on in the countless stories shared by his family members. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered. There will be no service as per Jack’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to this seniors biking organization: https://cyclingwithoutage.ca/getinvolved/
