Cherlyn Margaret Joyce Reed was born on October 28, 1950, in Vancouver, BC. She lived a life marked by quiet strength and a deep appreciation for privacy. Cherlyn passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital in the palliative care ward, located in Nanaimo, BC.
Cherlyn dedicated many years of her life to the food industry, working as a cook in North Vancouver and Oliver, BC. Through her work, she contributed to her community by sharing not only her skill but also her dedication to her craft.
A person of calm demeanor, Cherlyn was known for her quiet nature. She valued solitude and privacy, preferring a peaceful life. Outside of her professional life, she had a love for fibre arts, which was one of her cherished interests and hobbies.
Cherlyn is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Hallett; her granddaughter, Rachel Parsons; her grandson, Matthew Parsons; and her great-grandson, Aedan Parsons. She is also survived by her brother, Terry Reed, and her son-in-law, Glenn Hallett.
She was preceded in death by her sister Cindy Reed, her brother Michael Reed, and her parents, Nora and Gordon Reed.
Cherlyn’s life journey touched the lives of those around her, and she will be remembered for her gentle spirit and the quiet spaces she cherished.
