Barbara Jane Willock

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Jane Willock (née Becker) in Victoria BC on July 11, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer.

Barb was born in Victoria, BC on April 24, 1948, to Elsie Becker (née Louttit) and George Becker. Barb grew up in Victoria and graduated high school from Oak Bay High School. Barb was a loving wife to Dan Willock for 39 years. She was a loving mother to Geoff and Elizabeth, amazing mother in-law to Krystle and Doug, and a dedicated and caring Nana to Caedmon Kovacs, Elijah and Tristan Ford, and Ethan and Isaac Willock. Her children and grandchildren brought her lots of laughter and immense joy. She loved spending time with them, teaching them, and laughing with them.

Barb worked as a school secretary for most of her life and loved it. She worked at various schools in Victoria during her career, and her fondest moments were working at Rogers Elementary School where she retired from.

Barb was an artist who enjoyed painting with watercolours and acrylics. She participated in various art clubs and created many beautiful paintings over the years. Barb’s favourite hobby was travelling around the world, usually on a cruise ship. She visited many countries and loved seeing God’s creation.

Most of all, Barb was a servant of Jesus Christ. She was dedicated to Him and her church family. She loved serving others and did that during her 43 years of attending Central Baptist Church in Victoria.

Barb is survived by her sister Liz Hudson and her husband Alan Hudson, Brother in-law Martin Willock and wife Sonya Reuter, brother in-law Bernie Willock and wife Marlene, sister in-law Shelley Willock and husband John Neuendorf, along with many other loved relatives and friends. Barb was predeceased by her loving husband Dan Willock, mother Elsie, father George, brothers Robert and Charles, mother and father in-law Josie and Archie Willock.

Barb treasured the many rich and diverse friendships made throughout her life. They brought her great comfort in her last days.

There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, July 26 at Central Baptist Church in Victoria at 2:00 pm.

The family would like to thank the staff at Victoria Hospice for making Barb's final days comfortable.
