Arlene "Lee" Coffin

March 16, 1935 — August 10, 2024

Arlene (Lee) De Lyser Coffin

1935 – 2024

Lee passed away at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC with family by her side on August 10, 2024. Born in Williamson NY on March 16, 1935, the youngest of four children she grew up on the family farm. She went to school at RIT and Michigan State University where she met King Harvey whom she married in 1960. She practiced as a Registered Dietician for many years, in Michigan, California and later in Ottawa ON. Lee and King raised their daughters in Ottawa and eventually fulfilled their dream of retiring in Victoria along with many of their close friends. After King passed away in 1993, she continued their dream of travelling eventually making her way across both Canada and the United States visiting friends, family and new places. On her travels she met James Coffin, and they married in 1995. Lee and Jim spent many years travelling the world, cruising and touring, making new friends and living in the homes they established in both Victoria and Little Diamond Island, Maine. When not travelling Lee and Jim spent their time playing bridge, attending the theatre, going to musicals, and entertaining. After losing Jim in 2019, Lee embarked on a new adventure moving into the new Tapestry building in downtown Victoria. Continuing her habit of making new friends she was very involved in the social activities and events. She will be missed by her family and all of the many, many friends she made over the years.

Lee’s request was that there will be no “tedious memorial service”, but rather asked that her friends raise a glass and wish her “Bon voyage”. She is pre-deceased by her brothers, Roy (Kathleen) and Bob (May), her sister Viola-Pearl and her stepson Daniel. She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Angus), Jill (Rene), stepson Jonathan (Jana), grandchildren Sheila (Seb), Rebecca (Dan), Jennifer (Oliver), John (Maddie), Gordon (Cristina), Tahnthawan (Mark), Jaed (Jessie), great grandchildren Gabrielle, Nigel, Estelle, Theodore, Hudson, Isla, Oscar, Frederick, Alban, Jai Yen, Jira, and many nieces and nephews.
