On Monday, September 9th, 2024, Ann passed peacefully at home, in Duncan BC, with her loving husband and family by her side, after a courageous journey with Parkinson’s Disease and Cancer.
Ann was born August 26, 1945 and raised on the farm in Essex County Ontario before heading off to the University of Guelph where she met Murray, her best friend and husband, whom she married in 1968.
Ann and Murray had a life of adventure and travel, raising their three children Marc (Jillian), Amy (Steve) and Todd. Their opportunities took them across Canada living in the prairies, Maritimes and Ontario. They settled in beautiful British Columbia in their retirement.
Ann is survived by her loving husband Murray, their children and her cherished grandchildren Colin, Marion, Isaac, Sawyer, and Grace.
Her brother Jim (Debbie) niece and nephew Christina (Eddie) and David (Jing), and brother-in-law Glenn (Karen).
Ann was an avid reader, arts enthusiast, passionate gardener and creative person. She spent endless days enjoying good books and articles, visual arts and live theatre with Murray and was a longtime CGIT leader. Ann was a skilled cook and an exceptional seamstress, quilter and knitter. Her quilts, hats, and scarves were lovely gifts to those who received them.
Curating their beautiful gardens by way of mail order bulbs, road trips to specialized nurseries and one-of-a-kind garden sales brought great joy to her and Murray together.
Ann cherished her long time friendships that she developed through their travels and the United Churches in Kanata, Chilliwack and Duncan. She enjoyed the many visits with friends after they moved to Duncan.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of life for Ann on Saturday, October 19th, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Duncan United Church at 246 Ingram Street, Duncan, BC. or by streaming online.
