Andrew "Norman" McMahon

Andrew ‘Norman’ McMahon was born on August 3, 1935, in County Armagh, Northern Ireland and passed away peacefully at home on October 28, 2025, at the age of 90 years. Norman met Emma in County Armagh and were married on March 27, 1957. Norman and Emma moved to Sooke in 1966 where they raised their 4 daughters. Norman had many hobbies, he raised and raced pigeons, raised rabbits and chickens, enjoyed fishing and hunting, loved his dogs and competing in agility and flyball with them, he was an avid beekeeper, and he was very proud of his ever-producing raspberry patch. Norman and wife Emma loved spending time with family and friends on their Denman Island property. He also enjoyed working in the garden and walking their dogs on the beach and trails. Norman, beloved husband of Emma (deceased), will be dearly missed by his 4 daughters, Linda (Hilton), Heather (Gary), Gillian (Pre-deceased Brad), Norma and 5 grandchildren, Barry (Lindsay), Colleen (Adam), Jenny (Ryan), Phillip and Megan and 5 great grandchildren, Eavan, Vera, Maverick, Elam, and Sid. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Anton Rabien and the West Coast Family Medical Clinic staff, Sooke Hospice, Sooke Loan Cupboard, and the amazing care from the Sooke Community Nurses who supported and cared for Norman and family through this difficult time.
