Alfred Campbell

October 4, 1952 — August 3, 2024

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Alfred "Fred" Campbell, who left us peacefully in Campbell River, on 3rd August 2024. Born on 4th October 1952 in Glasgow, Scotland, Fred lived a full and joyful life characterized by his love for his family, camaraderie with friends, and a deep passion for music and song.

Fred was a loving father to his three sons — Timothy (Jordana), David, and Steven, his daughter Crystal Campbell, and grandchildren, Riley and Ashley Campbell. Fred cherished his family, and every moment he spent with them.

Although predeceased by his father, Alfred Campbell, mother, Agnes Campbell (McIntosh), brother James Campbell and his partner, Susan King, their shared memories and bonds of love remain undiminished.

Fred's legacy is also carried forward by his siblings who survive him; his brother Gerry (Barb) Campbell, sisters Anne (Dan) Campbell, Florence Campbell, sister-in-law Mary (James), and by many adoring cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Those privileged to have known Fred will remember him as a man who deeply cared about connecting and being with family, friends, and loved ones. A hard-working Teamsters Union member who dedicated his life to providing for his family, and a skilled guitarist with a beautiful voice, Fred often lit up gatherings with his humour, musical talents, incredible smile, and embodied happiness like no other. His passion for music, a quiet life near the ocean with Sue by his side, was only exceeded by his love for his family.

A Celebration of Life will be announced to family and friends. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask for stories, memories, and photos of Fred to be shared, as a testament to the wonderful man he was and the significant impact he had on all our lives. He will remain forever in our hearts.

So long Freddy. You’re going to be missed
